This page explains what information Kestrel collects on this website, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We keep it short because we collect very little.

Who we are

Kestrel (Smith Software) builds and manages websites for small businesses in Canada. You can reach us at hello@kestrel-sites.com.

What we collect

When you use the contact form, we collect:

• your name
• your email address
• your business name (optional)
• the message you write

We use these only to reply to your request and to arrange a call. We do not use them for anything else, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to send.

Cookies, tracking and analytics

This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. If you switch between the light and dark theme, your choice is saved in your own browser (local storage) so it is remembered next time. It is never sent to us.

Who handles your information

We use a small number of service providers to run the site:

• Cloudflare hosts this website and delivers it to your browser.
• Resend delivers contact form messages to our inbox as email.

These providers process your information only to provide their service to us, and some may do so outside Canada. We do not sell your information or share it with anyone else for their own purposes, except where the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep your message for as long as we need it to answer you and, if you become a customer, to provide your service. If we do not end up working together, we delete it within 12 months. Our server does not log the content of your message.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted by emailing hello@kestrel-sites.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, and no later than the time allowed by Canadian privacy law.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and the contact form includes basic protection against automated spam. No method of sending information over the internet is perfectly secure, so please do not include passwords or payment details in your message.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
